Wow, what a busy few weeks it's been! I've had my first wedding of the year and it couldn't have been with a more amazing couple, they had a very simple service, a walk together on the beach and then celebrated with a glass (or 2!) of champagne and their neighbours! PerfectÂ
I've heard from so many of my amazing couples who are now starting get excited about planning their weddings again, its been a tough 12 months and so much has changed but it's been really good to catch up with everyone. Many of this years weddings have been scaled down, but what I'm hearing is that everyone is just so happy with being able to get married and celebrate with close family and friends, that they don't care if it's not what they originally had planned, they just want to enjoy their day with those who are close to them.Â
Here's my top tips for any couples feeling nervous or unsure about weddings over the next few months:
- Talk to your suppliers, they may not have all the answers but they want to support and help you, communication may have been tricky during lockdown but most venues are back up and running and are making plans to make sure you have the best wedding possibleÂ
- Many of us have lost family or friends but they would want you to have an amazing day, talk to your wedding or venue coordinator, there are so many beautiful ways to honour people who can't be and your coordinator will be on hand to help and advise
- Things may be different this year and lots of things have changed but try not to worry about the things that we have no control over, rules change, numbers may go up, numbers may go down, you can only go with the flow and try enjoy it, you've waited long enough for this day!
I've got a crazy few months coming up with lots of visits to new and more well know venues, catch ups with couples, pre wedding shoots, staged shoots and then of course, loads of weddings! I can't wait to get back out there and do what I love, take beautiful pictures of amazing people!Â
